Bloody Mary – Recipe of Champions

We could try to educate you about the origins of this wonderful elixir, but we won’t. Instead we’re simply going to give you the recipe that we like to follow on a lazy Sunday morning, to clear foggy heads and give us some get up and go. Here’s what you'll need:

  • Vodka (we’ll leave how much to your discretion)

  • 1 litre of decent tomato juice

  • 2 tsp of Tabasco

  • A healthy glug of Worcestershire sauce

  • Pinch of salt

  • Ground pepper

  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

  • Celery (to serve)

  • Bacon. Because, well, bacon

What you'll need to do:

  • In a jug (because sharing is caring), pour the tomato juice and mix in the Worcestershire sauce, tobasco, salt and pepper.

  • Pour in the vodka.

  • Squeeze some juice from the lemon wedges and drop them in.

  • Add the celery sticks and put the jug in the fridge to stew and chill for about half an hour.

  • While you are waiting, fire up that hob and fry some bacon.

  • After the half an hour is over, serve the delicious mixture with ice, a celery stick and a couple of slices of bacon in each.

  • Enjoy.
